Who is this course for?

This qualification is designed for those who work in all areas of the food and drink manufacturing sectors. As well as those directly involved in the handling, production or processing of food or drink items, the qualification may also be suitable for those whose work requires them to enter the workplace e.g. equipment maintenance engineers and delivery personnel.

The level 2 award in food safety for manufacturing is a sought-after course for food handlers in the manufacturing sector of the food industry. Students can choose from home study via online and distance learning or for individuals and groups/businesses, you are welcome to book work based or classroom style delivery.

This short programme is usually delivered over one day, and assessment will be by a multiple-choice examination consisting of 30 questions and lasting 40 minutes.

Course Description

This food safety for manufacturing course is brought you by HRD Services Belfast in conjunction with CIEH Chartered Institute of Environmental Health. The CIEH Level 2 Award in Food Safety for Manufacturing offers students the opportunity to explore topics such as:

Principles of HACCP, good manufacturing practices, prerequisites for haccp, personal hygiene, pest and temperature control, kitchen layout, legislation and storage requirements for different food types and much more...

Description of activities/exercises:

You will complete workbook activities exploring the key for food safety implementation in the manufacturing sector, through viewing multimedia and interactive learning presentations, reading textbooks and researching/studying food manufacturing concepts and models using reliable websites online. All provided through the centre for your convenience.

You will undertake a period of study, either in a classroom setting or by online and distance learning.
