Who is this course for?

This excellent short course replaces the old intermediate food safety qualification in the new level 3 award in supervising food safety in catering. The single unit qualification can be gained through online multiple-choice assessment following a study period agreed between student and tutor. Ideal for Supervisors or Junior Managers in food production operations.

You will gain valuable food safety supervision skills to enable you to be a more knowledgeable food safety supervisor, develop HACCP knowledge and understand the implications of poor hygiene on business and the greater consumer.

Prerequisites:

Be aged 16 and above, have a good standard of literacy, numeracy and ICT.

Description of activities/exercises:

You will complete workbook activities exploring the key considerations associated with supervising food safety in an organisation, through viewing multimedia and interactive learning presentations, reading textbooks and researching/studying food safety concepts and models using reliable websites online. All provided through the centre for your convenience.

This level 3 intermediate food safety course can be delivered on site for businesses in Northern Ireland, and international/local students have the option of online study for this coursework based programme. Our learning management system has level 2 food safety, intermediate food hygiene and advanced food safety management course material available for online study.

HRD services experienced tutors hold advanced food safety, public health and other food science related qualifications to support students throughout their learning journey.

Level 2 food hygiene courses are available from our centre in County Antrim Northern Ireland, and the level 3 and 4 programmes available through workplace learning and online study.
